About Elizabeth A Maxwell

Dr. Elizabeth A Maxwell is a Miami native that graduated from Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Dr. Maxwell went on to complete a rotating Internship at Louisiana State University, a surgical internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Colorado, and a surgical fellowship at Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists in Florida. Dr. Maxwell then completed a 3-year small animal surgical residency at the University of Illinois, where she also obtained a Master of Science degree in Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Following residency, Dr. Maxwell completed a 1-year Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Florida and became one of less than 60 veterinary surgical oncologist in the United States, recognized by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Maxwell is a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner, and a Fear Free Certified Professional. Dr. Maxwell also serves as past-president of the Veterinary Wound Management Society, and currently serves as President for the Collaborative Care Coalition. Recently Dr. Maxwell began hosting The Margin, the official podcast of the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncologists.
